Looking for 2011 HOMETOWN HEROES RECIPIENTS

The Hometown Heroes Awards will be presented in a public affair on March 14 at The Pinnacle, 1772 Indian Wood Circle. Maumee's various civic groups gathered together to select the recipients from a collection of nominees submitted by friends, family and co-workers. Each year Maumee citizens are recognized for their continued involvement and leadership roles in helping make Maumee a better place to live. This person can be your neighbor, child's coach, a mentor, volunteer or associate at work or church. If they are making a difference in the community, we want to know about it.

Four Award Categories

Outstanding Citizen Award
Presented to an individual who has consistently given of his or her time and talent to make the community a better place to live.

Golden Apple Award
Presented to an individual who has shown excellence in educating students in schools, churches or other community settings.

Maumee River Award
Presented to the individual, company or organization that has demonstrated exceptional generosity and civic responsibility in providing financial support or leadership in the community.

Bridge Award
Presented to the individual, company or organization that, through volunteer service, has helped foster and develop the youth citizenship of our community on a recreational or social level. (i.e. youth coach or group leader, in a church setting, sports, counselor, etc.)

         

NOMINATION APPLICATION 

Application Process

1. Nominations must be submitted to the Maumee Chamber of Commerce, 605 Conant St., Maumee OH 43537. Application deadline is Feb. 15, 2012.

2. Anyone can submit a Nomination Application Form.

3. Be sure your application is as thorough and complete as possible. Include approx. dates of service and contact information. Additional information may be included by attaching extra sheets to the nomination form. You must type or print legibly to be considered.

4. You may nominate more than one person, but each nominee must be submitted on separate nomination forms, unless they are a couple or representatives from the same organization.

Recipients will be announced on February 19. Hometown Heroes Awards Banquet is sponsored by the Maumee Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Maumee, Maumee Lion's Club, Kiwanis Club of Maumee, Arrowhead Park Association, Maumee Uptown Business Association and Quality of Life Group.
